Five drivers in Rally-X...
The second season of Rally-X started this past weekend, with SR Motorsport continuing to field new drivers.

Competing in a rally car for the very first time were Mike Chiew and Sean Siew, who finished sixteenth and eighth overall respectively. In her second Rally-X event Valerie Atkinson won the Ladies Prize in her class. And following on from his excellent outing in the Rally Sprint event, Azry Mohd. Noor came home in third overall, collecting under-25 and rookie driver trophies as well. All were driving v2 Subaru Imprezas.

Regular SR Motorsport driver James Russell was also competing - in his v4 Impreza - but must have had vision problems, as he managed to collect a total of forty seconds in penalties for hitting course markers! This dropped him from second overall to fifth. A slipping clutch didn't help his stage times either, but a good soaking with Coca Cola dried up the oil on the clutch plate - proving that things really do go better with Coke!

The most satisfying part of the weekend though was seeing the new recruits enjoying the new off-road experience and improving their times during the five runs, with all of them vowing to return for the remaining four Rally-X events this year. The next outing will be on April 26th - at the Sepang circuit - this time on asphalt.
